    1. Identify and state arguments . The overall objective of quantitative analysis is to provide students with an approach to problem solve through logic and reasoning. It is important because you have use in life and in the world. I don't know if I have Critical thinking. I can think but not Critical thinking. I haven't been in the class long enough to know if I have used Critical thinking.

  2. Critical thinking is to analyze something and form a judgement on the matter. I think some characteristics of effective critical thinkers are good judgement, thinking outside of the box, and not taking a personal approach but more of a neutral one. It is very important in college because when completely an assignment or college related task it is best we critically analyze our responses the best we can with as much detail as possible. We need to think outside of the box and not leave anything out. Sometimes what we are looking for is not at eye level. We have to dig deep for it. So far in this class, I believe I have done well analyzing the death certificates by getting as much information I can from a pair of old birth certificates with limited information on them. I also think I was able to criticize the small clip from the film we watched. We had to analyze a black and white fill with no audio which was a little tough to do.

  4. Critical thinking is analyzing a situation to form an opinion or decision. Critical thinking is invaluable in college because it begins to bring you to a point where it becomes second nature and you look at every situation critically. It's also a versatile skill that transfers to other activities like reading, decision making, time management, and prioritization. Creativeness also improves if you're an artist because you look at everything from both a creator and an analysis perspective. I feel that I'm a critical thinker in terms of literary analysis and when talking to others, but I'm still improving with prioritization and time management.

  5. Critical thinking is that mode of thinking about any subject no matter what the content or the problem may be, being able to see the thinker improves the quality of his or her thinking by skillfully analyzing, assessing, and reconstructing it. Critical thinking is self-directed, self-disciplined, self-monitored, and self-corrective thinking. It helps college entirely because it shows the different methods you may take when you face a challenge and see the different strategies on how you can solve them. I say that my critical thinking skill is pretty high and low I'm a little in the in-between the when it comes to it.

  8. Critical thinking is approaching a topic, learning different aspects of the matter by analyzing various sources, and being able to make appropriate connections when demonstrating an understanding of the topic and presenting a skillfully articulated argument.
In college critical thinkers are important. When in an educational environment, you are expected to learn from what is taught to you, but having an inquisitive stance is important. It is important to be apprehensive about any information acquired when presenting an argument. Sources have to be critically evaluated for content and accuracy and not conform to a bias. For instance, the credibility of some particular “reliable news sources” must be consistently evaluated for strong bias and real evidence behind strongly worded statements.
Additionally critical thinking is important when demonstrating knowledge of a topic. The ability to learn about a subject, and relate it back to real life is essentially a major accomplishment in the pursuit of education. It doesn’t really matter if someone can present statistics on gun related incidents, for some it is easy to ignore facts. However, when arguing against an issue like gun violence, it is important to have a deeper understanding of the factors that contribute to forming the terrifying reality of the statistics. Recognizing mental illness and the ease of the process of acquiring firearms; witnessing media footage of the incredible trauma of the survivors and victim’s loved ones when recounting the terrifying ordeal; and understanding how these statistics in America compare globally to countries with stricter approaches to firearm possession can be argued heavily when combatting this issue.
Critical thinking skills are immensely important when evaluating information in college and beyond in order to be what some call “a citizen of the world.”
This semester I enjoyed writing my essay on sexual education reform. I believe my essay and presentation demonstrated the amount of analytical effort I put forth on the subject. I was able to find a lot of information from a variety of sources that when pieced together, presented a solid foundation. I was able to convey the importance of urgency when addressing the issue due to the shocking real life data.
I believe my argument was well received and I properly demonstrated a deep understanding of the topic.

  9. In my opinion critical thinkers are people who look at a question or anything and look at the bigger picture or how it effected people around them. This can also be someone who analyzes every aspect of a question or situation.some characteristic are someone who looks past what is given to them and keep on researching question and looks further into things. this is very important in college because its basically the next step after high school and you come a critical thinker in the classroom but also outside of it.
